Prayer: A Measure of Spiritual Maturity

‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:3

God is ready and willing to answer your prayers. Of course, He is also quite capable of taking care of your needs without your asking. However, God wants you to ask for His help. In prayer, you must humble yourself before God and lay side your willfulness and worry.
Your prayers also reveal your level of spiritual maturity because what you pray for shows what is important to you. If you are only praying for worldly stuff (money, possessions, etc.), then you are neglecting those things that will last an eternity – knowing God, dwelling in His presence, walking in His love and being spiritually strong. Listen to your prayers and decide if you need to adjust what you are asking God to provide you.
"Man is never so tall when he kneels before God – never so great as when he humbles himself before God. And the man who kneels to God can stand up to anything." Louis H. Evans (Christian author)
